Hey fellow Aussies,

I am about to get into finishing a few boxes now that I have some workable effects up and running.  I am going to try the dark T-shirt transfer (Celcast I think) on one and paint on another for comparison purposes.  Still not sure about lettering on the painted ones... maybe Letraset or Decal Paper.

Soo... any of you guys had experience with locally available paints?  I am thinking of Holts Dupli-Color or similar.  From a quick look at a few auto parts places many of the paints now are acrylics not enamels.... I assume acrylics are not suitable for baking to harden, or that baking isn't necessary?

Any views, opinions, thoughts.... :)

Cheers,

Peter.

Hi Peter
I use Holts spray paints all the time with great results.
Make sure you sand the box then clean with alcohol before spraying.
Spray box with a few coats etch primer first otherwise paint won;t stick very well.

I tried to baking but if you spray a heavy coat the paint can chip easily. No need to bake I never do now, I let the warm aussie sun do it's job! Good luck!

Thanks dubs...   I picked up some Holts stuff yesterday, etch primer included.

Now to sand, clean and spray... mind you I won't rely on Tassie sun  8)

Cheers,
Peter.
