Just finishing building an easyvibe using LDR's & LED from Jaycar (Australia). Quite a nice build, I noticed the led's stop pulsing (an hence no effect) when the voltage to circuit drops below 6.5 volts.

Is there a better way to improve the range of the depth pot (100K log)? everything happens in the last quarter turn of the pot.
Anyone have any suggestions / improvements to it?

Read the material on pots at geofex and the AMZ sites.  There are useful tidbits there about modifying the taper of pots.

I just finished an easyvibe as well, and I'm still in the process of tweaking it before I put it in a box.  I was unhappy with the depth control at first, but I noticed the sweep of the effect is very sensitive to the setting of the 1k drive trimpot.  When it's in the sweet spot with a good "sway" the depth control seems much more usable.  Still, I agree with you that it could be stronger.

Anyone else build this thing with Vactrols?  I used VTL5C3's and they seem to work ok.  I'm thinking I might replace the 10K/LED's bias configuration with a trimpot, since this was intended for matched LED's all around, not Vactrols.  Maybe I can get a better sweep range by adjusting the bias point.

This is a great sounding project, but I can't resist tinkering until it sounds just a little bit better...  :)

Yeah you can get that Real Hendrix univibe thing  happening!
