Found a nice book at the library today... Should I scan it?

It's called "Audio IC projects".  From 1994, made by Maplin.  It was funny, I was just paroozing (that means looking in a relaxed manner, right?) the electronic book selection, and I saw this one... I pulled it out, looked through it, and lo and behold, there's 2 circuits using MN series bucket brigade chips.  There's a really nice description of how the bucket brigade works-I didn't realize they were actually named after the firefighing technique.  Aside from those 2, there's a bunch of circuits based around specific ICs, namely:
MF10 (filter)
LM386 (power amp)
TDA 1514 (power amp)
LM1875 (power amp)
SSM2044 (VCF)
SSM2120 (dymanic range processor)
MN3004 (used in this book for "richening" sound)
MN3011 (used for reverb)
MSM6322 (Pitch shifter)
TDA7052 (1 watt power amp)
LM13700 (op amp)

Anything I should scan?  I think I might scan the bucket brigade description for my own use, and the MSM6322 should I ever come across one.

The LM386 circuit they use is a lot like my parallel universe, go figure :D

Could you scan the pitch shifter project? I'm looking for one of this circuits, and I only have the GGG circuit.

If you do scan it, it's probably not a good idea to plaster it all over the net - copyright issues!

Is that the Penfold book?  I think my library has that one too.

Hey Colin,

I tried to email you about your parallel universe but it bounced.
Could you email me and get in touch?
I have some ebay questions too...
Thanks!

Should work...

I won't put my name on any of the copying, of course :D

It's a maplin book.

The Pitch shifter project requires a really obscure OOP chip, man...  That's the problem.

I think the upgrade chip that replaced it, the MSM6722, is still avail in quantity in Asia (Oki). Mr Bear???

I would scan away - electronics does not seem high on their agenda!
better to be in bad taste than to taste bad

the MSM6722 is obsolete, too:

(find schematic for pitch-changer there  )

but it is quite possible, one may find NOS left over...?

scan it man..   but put thanks to where it  came from..  that way you are covered  no what i mean.

I would like to learn more about those bucket brigade chips and the dynamic sound processor sounds pretty cool.

I thought the same thing.  I don't know the current "standard", I assume it's those f'ing IC blobs.

I'll scan it whenever I get a chance.

Hehe... the library at my university has this book too.

I also found out that they have the original version of Craig Anderton's EPFM as well as some other nice books about tube amps, including 'Vacuum Tube Amplifiers' from '48.  :D

a lot of libraries have a kind of good-will sale once a year,
where they get rid of old, worn, or "not up-to-date" books.
Great chance to get some tube-or music-electronics-books
for a Guilder, Mark, Dollar or Pound (or Euro).....

About the only positive side to the under-funding of libraries, is that a lot of books tend to be old.  Consequently there are many hard to find and out of print electronics books to be borrowed.  Two of my local libraries have a excellent selection of books with a lot of great stuff in them - not everything is on the net!
