I built a blend pedal wich works great. I was thinking of a adding the option of a volume pedal for the blend control.

Can I just solder up a switching jack or should I do some sort of opto based method?

  Turn one of the two effects all the way down/off.
  If that doesn't work, try grounding the one of the blend pot inputs.
