Are 2.2 M resistors something that many pedals use?  The reason I ask is i was at radio shack today getting some parts that I forgot and I need one and he says that they are discontinued!!! (Building an Electra Distortion)  So, should i get all that he has left?  I plan to make more pedals, so would it be a good idea to stockpile a few?

Normally once you get that high the value isn't all that important.  The only time I can think of a resistor getting above 1M is the one for the input cap.

If you can't find them, you can always use two 1M resistors in series. That should be close enough for Rock & Roll.

If you want to play with high gain circuits, it's a good value to have around, but keep in mind that radioshack will sell you 5 resistors for $1 while http://www.circuitspecialists.com will sell you 1000 resistors for $3.

the radio shack i know sells them(single) for .99 cents, i could get 3 from any other electrical supply for the same cost... but if it's conveinient, or your in a pinch... it's not a bad deal
