Hey bowanderror - I changed the 1k to 10k based on this post (link below).  10k uses less current than 1k.  I also used 100u caps just based on physical size for power filtering.  Of course you could always go bigger if you have something compact.   I've made a couple of these, and have never had an issue with noise.  I think it's a great compressor.

I probably updated the layout since the previous post.  Think I have some smaller options listed.   Good luck with it.

I don't have any PCBs left for the diode compressor(s).

PCBs for rev A and rev B of the diode compressor:

Hi Jonny, I've bought PCB for this from you long time ago, now started to populate and noticed that 3PDT board has holes for some kind of a small PCB-mounted jacks? Could you please give me some clue what kind of jacks did you use, or even better, mouser part number? Thanks!

They are Neutrik NRJ4HF jack sockets as listed on the bill of materials for the compressor. You can get them from mouser.

Finally build a Rev B of the Diode compressor earlier this year, and I'm loving it!!

Not sure if it's the feed-forward design or the diodes, but it contrasts nicely with my Pellucid compressor.

That said, I'm thinking it would be nice to have the option of a softer knee or a softer ratio...

Anyone have thoughts on adding a ratio control to this? Or would I be better off building an Engineer's Thumb?

Also, I'm curious what makes the Rev A Diode comp sound more transparent than the Rev B? Does the smoothed dual supply do a lot of work?
