I just built up a Big Muff. I used the Green Russian parts list.

Everything is working it sounds like a muff but the tone control sweep doesn't sound right. It's really bassy all the way across the sweep. The tone control does work but the range from bass to treble is not very wide.

I double checked the wiring and values and they look correct. I checked the wiring on the pot and this looks correct. Is the Green Russian just super bass heavy and that's the way it's supposed to sound? Or should triple quadruple check everything?

Here is a schematic with same part values I'm using, scroll down to the Green Russian:

If the bass end is definitely working (sounds like it) but you haven't got enough treble, check the R5/C9 connections. It's probably just a bad joint on one of those. It could potentially be the pot wiring to that side too.
