Mutron Octave Divider info

For all those interested.....
 I was reading an article on www.beitec.com and he mentioned that the Octave divider was designed in part by George Merriman. He also mentioned that some part of it was patented by merriman as well.
After some searching, I found this:

Patent #4,151,775  "Electrical apparatus for determining the pitch or  
 fundamental frequency of a musical note".

There's no schematic but a block diagram and a VERY detailed writeup on the operation.

I think its some sort of quicktime file. My comp opens up quicktime everytime it views it. Unfortunately, I cant find any way to save the file.
