FF + what > AMZ Tone Control

RIght now I'm driving the tone control [with the mid scoop] with a DIST +, The article specified this TC works well with an OA driving it.
  What would be some good alternative amp setups I could use to drive this TC, it works quite well on Miss Piggy, I want to try some different amps between A FF and the Tone Control...any suggestions is what I'm asking for !!!
