OT: Which companies to visit in L.A and San Fransisco?

I'm studying Electronic Ingeneering and as a part of my education my class and I will travel all the way from Denmark to USA in fall this year. We've just started planning, and so far it has been decided to stay for 2 weeks and we've decided to visit Las Vegas, San Fransico and LA. The trip is expected to last 2 whole weeks including trips back and forth.

What kind of companies are we looking for? Any information about companies with productionlines and/or development departments manufacturing products relevant to my education will be very much appricieated.

Personally I of course would like to get information about companies using DSP-technology, that is both software companies and state-of-the- art soundcards. I also would like to get in touch with companies that manufacture Integrated Circuits.
