Hi, everybody!
I recently build a Meteor and are encountering a strange phenomenon:
when I play notes on the low E string in the lower registers there is a strange kind of sweller effect. Can anyone help me out with this??? On higher notes everything is ok.
Otherwise this is agreat sounding circuit. Lots of raunchy distortion and cool harmonics. Brown sound at it´s best!

Yes, it can get slightly woofy esp. with the the neck pickup. If I had it to do over, I would tune that out of it by adjusting the tone stack a little for less bass. For now, I just turn the bass control down a little, to about 1/3 when I've got the gain cranked. That seems to take care of it.

Glad you are enjoying it. :D

Hi, Doug!
Thank you for the advice. I think Iwill try rescaling the tonestack. Maybe a little less treble would be fine, too. Otherwise, that's what makes it a Trainwreck, eh?(Sort of) I heard the Expresses all tend to be quite trebly, but cutting right through in a band context. That's IMHO one of the reasons they are legend. After the experience with the Meteor I think I will try myself on one of the (real) Trainwreck Express schematics that are flying around on the web. Maybe anyone has experience/suggestions on which to build...
Again: my appreciations, Doug!! :D  :D
