Speaking of which -- my FX-10 has recently gotten noisy/hissy.  Any idea what causes this and how to correct it?

Thanks, all

Here's the DOD FA1, which I believe is similiar (don't cut my head off if I'm wrong, though)

Did you ever open yours up? I think I did a long time ago, but I don't remember what was inside.

I remember it sounding really good.

Do you guys like yours?

Aron -- I haven't looked inside yet. About 2 years into my original 3 yr warranty, it had a noisy switch problem. I shipped it back, they fixed it, it's been great ever since.

I use it as a lead boost for my banjo (with a Fishman pickup), running through a DI into the PA. It's great -- wide gain range, basic tone control. Plus it only needs a very light touch to activate -- a plus when you're singing right up until the solo.

It's only recently that it's started getting hissy and a little static-y. When I plug it into my Blues Jr (for my lap steel), I can't hear the noise, so I guess it's all higher frequencies.

Any idea what components may go bad, causing the noise?
Thanks.

Colin, I don't mean to cut off your head but...

I am pretty sure that the picture posted above is the Boss FA-1 not the DOD FA-1.

I have a layout for the Boss FA-1 at http://www.ustomp.com.

If anyone finds the schematic I would be happy to make a layout for it.

any chance of getting digital pics up of a living one ?

I really want to buy one but none available 2nd hand that I can find in UK
Under these circumstances I will build for personal use if I can get the schematic instead.
