I have only been building pedals for a couple months or so now, but I am already starting to gather quite a large inventory of components.  I have already had a case where I ordered a part that I later realized I already had plenty of.

My question is if anyone know of a good piece of software that I could use to keep track of my inventory?

Thanks in advance.

When I get around to being that organized, I use Excel.

I keep a list of all of my typical components and I'll write down how many I have.

Basically, I try to keep all of my parts drawers stocked all the time, and when I notice I'm getting low on something, say 4558s or .01uf caps, I'll put an order together and stock up on everything. I like to keep at least ten of everything I can (resistors and caps) and at least a few of all the major ICs. Pots I order specifically, but I keep a bunch of typical values, like 10K, 100K around.

Sure, any spreadsheet or database program.

In general, for our hobby, you don't need to keep track of every single part. Just put them in coin envelopes, when you see that they are getting low, order more.

Ya, I've never felt like forking up the ridiculous amount of money for Excel... I suppose I could try openoffice or something.

I wonder if it would be usefull to have a program that you could keep track on components and then quickly allow you to order more from Small Bear (for example) when you are low.  Maybe I'm going overboard here..

Thanks for the replies
