Jeff Martin of The Tea Party has one of those. He programmed different tunings in so he doesnt have to change guitars all the time.

The dude from Live has one too.  He has it hooked up to a foot pedal arrangement that lets him change tunings while he plays.  Makes for some cool, moody guitar atmos!

You guys seen this: http://www.gibsonmagic.com/digitalguitar.html

Not just an AMP for each string.. an EFFECTS RACK for each string!  Yeah!!!  The Gibson Magic stuff looks interesting too...

Hmmm, know a few guys down at the club that could use a self tuned guitar, but they don't need alternate tunings, just the standard would be appreciated by me and they're audience... :D

With all the dozen's of blues songs that start "Gonna get up in the morning" , its a fact that blues musicians are apparently the only ones that actually get up in the MORNING...

hey...

but then we'd never get to hear 'the tuning song' ever again at a local band gig...

Yeah, like when Ravi Shankar (sp?) was tuning his sitar, got a huge applause and say's... Thanks I was just tuning up... Hard to tell with one of them haha.. :)

Monster food for thought.  Six different 100 Watt amps in a semicircle behind you.  Q:  "Is there a god?"  A:  "There is now"     THX for your Gibson.  A seperate line of effects for each string.  Imagine what kind of psycho stuff could you do with 6 triggered samplers?  Do any of you know what a system like this retails for?

I sat and thought about this for several minutes.  Wow.  Imagine them in a circle around you - as you play on different strings, the sound comes from a different point.  Playing arpeggios up the neck would move the sound in a circle around you.  Play all the strings, and you're blasted with an omni-directional dose of devastation.  That would be incredible!  Just think about it...
