beginner NPN boost

is that beginner project a volume booster? if so can i use it to drive my fuzz pedal?

Yes and Yes. :D

If you haven't built a pedal before, it's a great one to start with for a couple of reasons. It's common circuit that you'll find as a piece of many other circuits, and it's a very useful device too. You might even find that you want to have it on all the time.

As with almost all rules (thermodynamics aside), there is usually an exception. In this case.... a circuit like the FuzzFace sounds best when it is presented with the impedance of a pickup directly. There is a way around that using a small transformer or inductor to mimic a pickup in the input line, but for the most part the NPN boost will give you more fuzz capability.

ive built a few pedals (inc the fuzz in question) but ive never found anything that will drive the fuzz very well, but ive never tried it with a volume booster before, and it looks like a great circuit to build :D

It's worth mentioning that there are other circuits similar to the FF that DO already have a booster as the first stage. :D I think the Colorsound ToneBender Mk II Pro is one such circuit.
