Can I sub a 50k for the 25k specified for nurse quacky and a 1K5 trim for a 1k (same circuit)?
It's people like us who contribute to dead fx pedals selling on eBay for what they'd cost new!

put a 50k resistor across the 50k pots element and it will act like a 25K pot.
i had trouble finding that same pot

All depending on the circuit, a single 50K across pins 1 and 3 may or may not really do it. I don't the Quacky schematic in front of me.

In general, you could also try adding a resistor of 3 times (or 2.9 times) the pot value between lugs 1 and 3, and a resistor that is 1.5 times the pot value between pins 1 and 2 as well as between 2 and 3. That set of three resistors will do a pretty good job of approximating a pot that is 1/2 of the original value. :D

Also in general, you can always sub a 1.5K trim for a 1K, you just get 50% more adjustment range and a little less resolution for the original 1K range.

Take care,
