BMP Question

I am about to build a BMP and there have been numerous discussions regarding the 100k resistor from the base of Q3 to ground.  I was wondering, if I leave this out, do I still connect the base to ground or do I leave this connection out?

Base carries the signal, if you ground that all your signal will be shunted to ground. I would say if no resistor is used to leave it open.

FWIW I built a Big Muff with this resistor switchable and I couldn't hear any difference with it in or out. For the cost of one spst switch and one resistor it's probably worth putting in so you can choose.
