I was looking through my parts supplies to see if I had all the parts for the MicroSynth project. I found some 4.7uf tantalum caps, but unfortunately they are only rated to 10volts. Can they be used in this project? I usually use 18v or higher (sometimes much higher) in my pedals in case I accidentally plug it into the wrong power supply.

Any help would be appreciated.

Also, anyone else working on thier own MicroSynth?

I like to over rate cap voltages too. 35V is a very common rating and I would suggest going for something like that.

Remember that often an unregulated supply that says 9V will actually put out a couple volts more when not loaded down by the current draw marked on the adapter. Tants are so unforgiving when you abuse them, but they should stand up to at least 20% over voltage I would hope.

Just my 2 cents. :D
