First of all, let me say hi to all you guys... Long time no see!

Anyways, I have a problm with a boss rv-3 I bought from ebay a while back.... The thing is, when i plug the powe supply into the box, the effect is on as the status light says so.

However the problem is that in order to bypass the effect for the first time after it has been given power, I need to press the switch 4-5 times or hold it for a short period. After that, the pedal functions perfectly normal...

All this happens regardless of whether or not there are any jacks plugged into it...

Its very strange and I was hoping one of you guys might know what the problem is....

Thanks... great to be back...

maybe it could be a shitty switch? Or email the ebay dude and till him abt it.

does it look like its been openened, or taken any falls? perhaps it has been dropped or opened and one of the wires is touching something it shouldn't. maybe the switching it on 4-5 times is just a coincidence and the movement of the switch moves the wire.

you could also pop is open and test the switch with a dmm. if the switch is working correctly, then you know it will be something else, and if the switch is not working correctly... then viola!

also, have you tried it with a battery instead... something could be funky with your PS.

just my $.02... but its always good to eliminate any possibilities.

Are you sure that you actually have to press it 4-5 times?
I know with mine that when it first gets power it turns on and cannot be turned off for about 2 seconds. After that the pedal works fine, but during that 2 seconds you can't turn it off.
