Im a little confused about which op-amps (dual) everyone uses to mod Ts and other dist/boost pedals.

I've used 4558, TL072 and NE5532 but which others do you guys recommend to try out ? I know the final decision is by ear but I'd like to try as many as possible  8)

TI's RC4558 (as opposed to the JRC4558), TI's 4559 (heavier dist.), Burr Brown OPA2134 & OPA2064 (quiet, smooth). These are available as free samples from Texas Instruments.

You already mentioned my favorite, the NE5532. A quiet, smooth, sweet sounding chip that's plentiful and cheap. I always try it wherever a dual OA is used. It's cousin, the NE5534 gets the nod where single OA's are used.

Gotta get more of these ones.
I used 'em all up when replacing the TL082's in my phazers, which by the way work real fine and are very low noise.

Cheers guys, looks like ti.com is about to get a visit :)
