Hi guys,
I think i mentioned in my last post my ruby works well except the note(with distortion)  fades away into this poppy blur, then after that you can just hear the note but it is clean until it fades normally.

But! When i place my orange squeezer in front of it, the nasty blur almost totally goes away, and the sound is much better. So it's just boosting the input before it hits the amp and driving the 386 better right?

I don't want to have to run effects into this to make it sound good(I want it to be very portable), so I figured i could just build a simple circuit to before the input buffer on the Ruby

would something like a fetzer valve do the trick? When i think about it though the orange squeezer would have alot more output so it may not do  the same job. If not is there anything reasonably simple to go in front of the amp?

Thanks heaps,
ED

I've been wanting to put the "Fetzer Valve" before my dual "Ruby". I was short a resistor or two though. Give it a try & tell us what you think.
