Today's need is for info on a 6CG7 tube...wiring, power supply needs, anything related to using this at lower power supply levels...like 30VDC.
I went on a house tube search [here], found this one, still looking for the 'gold mine' bag with probably 15 tubes in it...gotta be here somewhere...
I searched around in google and related links, and found ample suppliers, devices for sale that use this tube etc. but no actual info about, or .schematics using. this tube...
 Also I found...old british 7025, a couple EL84's, and what looks like [no #'s left]a 12AX7. I'm wondering most about the 7025, and 6CG7...
Update...I put the United Electronics 7025 in the circuit, works good, more distorted and less round than the Ampex 12AX7, less distance physically between the top and bottom plate on the 7025.
I'm prefering the rounder sounding Ampex ^.

Well to start ou here's the datasheet:
http://www.mif.pg.gda.pl/homepages/frank/sheets/093/6/6CG7.pdf

I don't see anything in the official data for <90 volts except the plate curves which show a severe kink in the low voltage operating area. That might give it a really cool tonality or it might sound poor. You'll have to tell us.

Take care,

There is some data sheets on that tube here:

Check out a Magnatone Amp, they used them all the time, and Pete, if your gonna play with tube's, Invest in a RCA recieving tube Manual, somewhere on line there is a copy floating around,

Searched 20013 records on 3620 tubes, 1 match.

looks like i was a little slower on the response.

Hey Pete,

The best one-stop online "shop" for tube data is www.duncanamps.com - definitely worth bookmarking.

Go to Duncan Amps and download TDSL - the personal edition. It's a goldmine! :D

Alaska and Colorado also had their respective gold rushes.
My brother brought me a piece from Skagway, according to historical references, this valley, when originally viewed in it's 'natural state, [before the hourdes arrived to stake claims and make off with it], the entire valley and river gleamed with gold nuggets of various sizes.
