could a change of a Potentiometer, effect the sound, let's say for a distortion???

just wondering that's all,

thanks...
i haven't given up just yet!

You bet. It all depends on where in the circuit it is and how it controls the gain. One of the places where this would be most obvious is in the feedback loop of an opamp based distortion, but I'm sure it could be noticeable in other types of circuits, too.

I like using 2k2 pots for FF's and TB's. That way I can for certain go 'over the top of the optimum maximum gain setting.
