Here's a few tweaks that resulted from the debate with RG today ... after all was said and done about dynamics, I turned my attention to the tonal aspects and realised that the roll-off points of the pedals are arbitrarily set to conservative values ...

I took my pedal to the bench to first confirm what I said about the load capacitor value (0.001u) ... indeed it is set way too high in my opinion and reducing it opens the top end response of the pedal quite a bit ... removing it entirely introduces a little top end emphasis too - so there is definite need for some capacitance there, depending ... 330pF seems to leave things flatish ...

After doing this first cap tweak the pedal took on an overly trebly quality ... that's when I noticed a considerable lack of low end from the circuit - and that the output signal cap is not set for full-band response either ... after replacing this 0.05u cap by 1uf Tantalum, bingo ... nice full bottom without any kind of emphasis ...

I detail these in my schematic and layout sheets :

... there's also mention of disconnecting the second detector path which can induce fuzz in the output signal - it is not required for proper operation as it came disconnected in my stock Script Logo pedal ... disconnect it if it is connected and you should get completely clean operation from this sucker ... even at low battery settings ...

peace ... jc
