I have a vintage rat that i modified a looong time ago, and once i did a mod it worked while the pcb was out of the chassis but once i put it in it didnt work. It bypasses perfectly, but when i turn it on the switch pops and then its muted. So i tried wiring it up again this time w/ 24gauge wire from smallbear replacing some of the wires on the rat. This time using a dpdt switch. The rat normally has a 3pdt switch with only the outer rows wired up with the middle row empty. Does anyone have any ideas?

I jumpered what could have been some broken traces. I know how to wire up the rat cuz i diagramed the inside while i was at a store. Could it be the switch not being wired up correctly (because the rat had a weird wireup on the 3pdt)?

Are you sure you got the input and output jacks on the right way around? It's pretty easy to mix those up when installing back in the box.

Not that I know from exerience, or anything...

um. yep.

What resistor values do you have for r5 (above the 4004 diode) and for r8 (to the left of the big elec cap thats to the left of the ic) And is yours dpdt or 3pdt?
