Hi,

I found a web site selling damn expensieve ac30-like handbuilt amps at http://www.treblebooster.com/snake_river_guitar_works.htm, and they advertise it as having
QuoteSeparate Cathode Bias supply for each EL84 tube - each tube sees and takes only the exact amount of current that it needs! This gives a very three-dimensional sound.
Does this mean its self biasing? How do u do it?

Nuther Vox Clone, nuthin new, nice lookin amp, but the Beatle's amps were S/S, not tubed, Rory played a Marshall more than he did anything else, and the same old Strat, Cathode Bais, Talk to Paul,Doug, the Octal build is a cathode bais amp I think, could be wrong, check the thread on it,

The 'Crispy Cream Treble Booster' guy. The sound samples are nice, he's a pretty good player IMO. I like the sample for his 'Krunch King'. I dig that kind of tone. Kinda psychodelic but clear at the same time.

All that means to me is that each pentode has a separate bias resistor on the cathode (and cap too, I assume). I think you could convert any cathode bias amp to this system simply by doubling up the values of the bias network and using one for each tube. I have no idea what you'd gain from it, other than being able to use unmatched tubes provided you made each bias circuit adjustable.

Yep, the Octal Fatness is a cathode biased amp.
