I saw a broken wah pedal at the Sunnyvale one, but that's all in the way of stompboxes. There are small mixers, rack processors, and hi-fi equipment, but few amps or stompboxes.

What I find the swaps most useful for is test equipment (got a Tektronix T922 scope with manual today for $63, been in a box for 25 years), tubes (50 cents a tube, and I brought home a bag full of NOS and used 5Y3's, 12AX7's, 12BH7's, 12AT7's, 12AU7's, 6SL7's, and 6V6's; I've yet to see a single 6L6 or 6550), tools, and parts. Also books, but the pickings on those were about nonexistent today.

Hewlett-Packard bench DMM's for $20, a nixie-tube Heathkit frequency counter for $20 (I played it cool and left and came back and it was gone).

Not a single tube tester today, oddly enough. Plenty of audio and RF signal generators. Lotsa Fluke handheld DMM's. I love vintage test equipment, so it's great fun for me.

One of the oddest/coolest things was someone was selling the parts kits of someone who had been a service tech for Conn organs. Electronic parts, keys, foot pedals.

I think anyone who's an electronics hobbyist should seek out and visit their local ham club swap meets.

Shoot!  I can't believe I missed it.

Are you in the Bay Area for the summer?

Check this for surplus sources, including Mike Quinn's:

Northern California Electronics Scavenging

Also, The Sunnyvale Electronics Flea Market is next happening on August 15th.

Unfortunately I'm leaving on the 13th so I can't go to that sunnyvale meet.  You, Ian, Jake and I should go to some junk shops this weekend with you leading around.  I've been looking for some good deals on enclosures and H11F3's.

I'd love to do a Quinn's (and wherever else) crawl with you guys. I wonder if Peter would be available to make the scene.
