has anyone tried this?. Like say you built a fuzz. Could you run the output cap to a 1/4" like normal but also use a dpdt switch that could bypass it when switched and send it to something like a ruby or a lm386 based amp. with a 2 or 3inch speaker attached..Thus when the switch is switched it would become a small practice amp with a fuzz face as the front end..?This is something I've been spending too much time thinking about wondering if it's even possible. I would assume it would have to run off of 2 9v's.. I guess what it is, you would be using the fuzz as normal by plugging it into an amp, but you could also switch it to the 386 and have a very portable thing that would be a little practice amp...
hope this makes some kind of sense...
any tips appreciated.

sounds do-able to me. although i doubt the 2 or 3 inch speaker would sound very good...

Sure you can, you don't need two 9V supplies if amp need 9V, just parallel pedal and amp from same input cak (or battery, but speaker will spend more power)
