I have a set of germ transistors from small bear that came with values. I used these same values and it seems the bias is off. The resistor listed for what would normally be a 8.2k or a 10k trim is listed as a 12k resistor. I used a 12k and still not right. What could/would/should I use as a trim pot to bias? 20k pot? etc?? I tried a 20kw I had lying around from a Tube screamer build and it really didn't go right. Am I off here in my train of thought?

The resistor off the collector is the one you want.
With a 20K pot as a trimmer you should be able to dial in 4.5v or close.
What voltages were you able to get. (measured at the collector of course)
