Considered posting this in Jons thread but wasn't sure. If a mod wishes to move it that is fine by me.

1.Ross compressor V4

2.Layout used was Toneys from the gallery.http://www.aronnelson.com/gallery/main.php/v/Toneys-Album/Rossv4.jpg.html?g2_imageViewsIndex=1

3.Followed that layout exactly apart from the substitutions listed below.

4.Substituted a 0.047uF cap at C14 instead of 0.05uF. D1 used was a 1N4004. Sustain pot used was 500K log instead of R log.

5.Negative ground.

6.Passes signal fine when bypassed. When effect is switched on there is basically no output. If i turn the amp right up there is a faint buzz that seems to respond to me hitting the guitar strings. Still very faint though.

Took some measurements as follows:

Battery voltage  9.44V
IC1 CA3080E

pin 1 0v
pin 2 2.07v
pin 3 2.07v
pin 4 0v
pin 5 0.63v
pin 6 2.50v
pin 7 9.44v
pin 8 0v

Transistors are 2n5088, measurements below were made in the order they are shown on the layout.

Q1
c 7.26v
b 1.46v
e 2.07v

Q2
c 7.05v
b 2.50v
e 2.34v

Q3
c 8.15v counts down from about 8.9v
b 0v
e 0v

Q4
c 8.15v counts down as above
b 0v
e 0v

Q5
c 9.44v
b 8.15v counts down as above
e 8.9v

Voltage at both ends of D2 and D3 are 0v

If any more info is required please let me know.

Cheers

Just an update.

Found a minute thread of copper/solder bridging two strips at one of the points where i cut a track.

Couldn't see it until i got hold of a magnifier. Seems to be working perfectly now.  :icon_biggrin:
