Seeing these creations makes me want to either go out and buy boxes, paint, Dark Transfer materials, and a thinking cap...or just leave the old spray can on the shelf...and use JB to functionally secure the RACO punchouts...lol...

I used an orbital sander (220 than 320) to get everything smooth and even. Once it's that smooth, any little scratch shows up so it's really easy to sand by hand with 220. Then it was just a matter of sticking the tape on and creating the triangles. I would say the whole thing took about 1.5 hrs.
For the lettering, I went to my local art store and found some black decal stock. The font was done in Autocad. Then I used a presision cutter at work that is able to cut through the decal but not through the back release liner. I peeled away the areas that were scrap which left only the letters attached to the liner. The trick with decal is to use a "pre-mask" to lift the letters off of the release liner. The pre-mask adhesive has enough tackiness to remove the letters from the original release liner but still keep the original layout in tact. Once it's peeled from the original liner the decal adhesive is exposed and can be applied to the box in the same layout as I drew in Autocad. Does that make sense? I could post a few more pics but my new "free" server space is already at it limits for bandwidth. I'll see if I can upgrade this weekend.

Hey csj, I really like the look of your wooden pedal.  Do you have any problems with shielding?  Using wood sounds like a great idea.  Easy to drill, heftier than plastic, probably easier to finish, and it looks great.  Nice job.

Bill, doing the sides was just like doing the top. 4 precut pieces ironed on. One thing to be careful of is positioning the transfer on a hot box. It really wants to stick!

Finished this one earlier today, it is a clone of the death by audio dealy built from the excellent pictoral ansil posted in the beginner forum, unfortanatly the clear coat wrecked havoc with my lables, but it kinda adds to the vibe of this particular pedal.
