Thanks Bill. :)

I kind of have that page geared more towards beginners, but also tried to keep it interesting for the more advanced builders, too.

I really need to get a full bore webpage publishing program and a domain name. I'm very close to running out of room on my AT&T account. 1/2 a meg short of 60 megs now... spanned across six email addresses. When I started out, I didn't know I would have all these webpages!

Anyone have any suggestions for publising programs and domains?

Here's an exterior and interior of my Crucible Fuzz, which is a derivative of the silicon NPN Fuzz Face with some component values adjusted:

The lettering on the exterior is rub-on covered with a clear coat. The PCB is my own layout from Eagle CAD, etched here at home (in a Ziploc baggie, thanks to a suggestion on this forum) using Press 'n' Peel Blue as resist.

Still putting the finishing touches on mechanically securing the battery and PCB. I don't like anything to rattle when people shake the box.

I see someone else uses those cheap dollar-store Panasonic batteries.  :)

Nice page! I like your amp pics and soundclips!

How long do those cheapie carbon batteries last? I've been using alkalines but have been tempted at the dollar store to try the carbons.

have you ever tried the cheap little dollar general 99cent batterie... that is al i will use in a dist, pedal, as they sound better than the panasonics.  i like the panasonics for delay or chorus,  but these alkaline dollar general brand are like god for dist pedals.

Bumping this thread with the bigcheese/greatcheddar/whatever I finished last night! Need a nicer side knob... I used the Avery t-shirt stuff to decorate.

Funny you should bump, as I just started organizing my little effects portion of my website. I have a little pictorial on my Orange Squeezer build and a little bit about each of the pedals I have made so far.

PS. Cheap carbon batteries are really the only thing for a Fuzz Face IMO. They last forever too. The Rangemaster is another candidate for carbon batteries. I have found they sound good in my DOD phasor, but don't last so long. For most everything else I use alkalines or DC adaptor.

Since this thread is back and I just finished this one up today here it is:

It's just a feed back looper pedal, but the one I made previously I had in a hand made sheet metal box that kept coming apart.
I'm finishing up another box just doing the labels now it should be done either tonight or tommorrow, I'll be sure and take more pics then.

Just finished this one up a bit ago, it's another BassBalls clone, after playing with the other one I built my brother wanted me to build him one.
Lables are waterslide decals, top coated with clear powdercoat.
The main part of the case has a gold sparkle clear coat but I can't get it to show up in pictures for some reason.

Bill Bergman, you mind sharing your schem-o and layout on that A/DA clone?

Great batch of work BTW, I wish I could get a majority of my work in the same room at the same time. I have the same problem as that other guy everytime I get stuff all put together sombody wants it, buys it, or steals it, so I'm constantly in a state of regeneration.

Thank god my bench is messy, I have a few boards there that look like junk with wires hanging out all over the place, but are in fact fully done effects and awaiting boxes/switches/knobs and when people come over sniffing around they don't know what the stuff is.
(secret: never solder the input or output jacks on until you actuall final assemble into boxes, no one will know what to do with the stuff!)

PS: just to clarify, I have good, old, long time friends, if/when they steal stuff they always fess-up and reciprocate in over-abundance, we all have a good laugh and I feel real good that they like my gear in favor of store bought stuff.

Funny story, one old friend came to me a few weeks ago and showed me a box with two knobs and no markings and said "look at this do you recognize this?" I looked at it closely, opened it up (had a hand made protoboard type circuit) and after I looking it over I said "No what is it?" he laughed real loud and said "I don't remember either, but YOU built it 18 years ago! and I recall it was really cool whatever it was, want it back?" we laughed so hard, I said to him "Well if it was so cool how come you don't remember what it is?" we laughed some more and tilted a few brews, as I get older I find life is more than just stuff and money or whatever, when you have good old friends you got life.
