Anyone doing anything during quarantine??? Live performances, builds, youtube video, recordings?
Put it here so we can view. Normally this would be in the OT, but what the heck, these are different times.
Send us a link so we can view.

I'll start. I wrote this when I was frustrated at the situation, losing all gigs etc... Wrote this tune called It may never end. Check it out

ElectricDruid

Excellent stuff...but you do realise you now have to tell us about all the different pedals you used during the recording? ;)

I've been taking advantage of the lockdown to try and get a few things I've been meaning to do for years actually finished. One  is getting myself to a place where I can develop programs for the FV-1 chip. Another is working on the "version 2" of the Druid DigiDelay. I can't say much more about that one right now, except to say that it fixes the biggest problems the original had.

frequencycentral

Did this today. Build video of a +/12V power supply:

I finished my surfy reverb/trem.

i'm a good way through a 5E3 build.

I tested all my transistors.

I still can't get the Gaggia to quit tripping the RCD.

And it's taken a month to do a one-week essay assignment.

On the bright side, my dad got out of hospital yesterday having survived the virus. Tough old bugger.

Side by far brighter than a trillion good working trems/reverbs..!! :icon_wink:

I've modded my TS9 and built a Bluesbreaker with a couple of mods.
It was a tight build with all the switches under the board, should've gone for a 1590N instead, but it fit.

I just finished up the final build of a new design of mine. I will be doing build documentation and a video this next week and posting. It's a really fun one, I promise :)

My friend (and bandmate) has started his own radio broadcast which has been a lot of fun to listen to. Especially as he gets progressively drunker and drunker as the show goes on. This week we did a 'phone in' where he called me and asked me about pedals i'm working on. I also had to select three tracks which were influential in making me want to build effects pedals. That was a really hard task, at a push i went with:
The Birthday Party - Figure of Fun
Radiohead - Go to Sleep
My Bloody Valentine - Only Shallow

My son and I managed to finish a new album:

Which, as it's name suggest, should've been finished last year...

I've built a modified big muff (that I need to make a demo video for) and a filter pedal (Twin T filter) that I do need help on modifying... that's for another thread though.

I'm glad that I have the ability to create music as a way of ignoring reality; I suspect that 'normal' people who don't have a creative outlet for their minds or hands will get much more upset / concerned / stressed than those who can find something to do. If I just had less work rather than more because of COVID, well that would be helpful.

i have started to build my pedal based bass/kick synth, i have found a friend of mine who is going to rap, and one to program and play a drum machine for the rest of the drums. we have already started writing some stuff. i make demo's using a DAW and simulate what my "rig" is going to do, but with plugins in FL Studio instead of hardware, so we can prepare the drum machine parts and write lyrics. the style we chose is a hip hop subgenre called Trap. its quite popular in my city, we plan on debuting live on the first evening that the horeca reopens. its funny that most bands in my area still practice weekly... my punk band doesn't and our drummer now lives on the other side of the country.

the things on my planning are:
1} i need to build a very wooly distortion to mellow out the sawtooth first, octave fuzz also seems to help a lot, but i'll just use a modified DOD250, with a scoop filter and a standard LPF
2} a voltage divider keyboard for the EXP in on the Electro Harmonix Pitchfork so i can play bass lines that double as a kick... ow yeah!!!!
3} write songs with FL Studio
4} when synth is finished, learn songs on synth.
5} practice songs together, with 6ft distance of course.

Iain

Yeah The Birthday Part are great, and that first album is fantastic. It was Nick Cave's first band. If you like that you may like one of his other projects called Grinderman.
Both these bands tend to be heavier than his main outfit; Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds. Check out:

Yes thanks! It's nice to make something that finally gets completed, and playing with someone who is much more talented than I am teaches me a lot. Did you play everything on that track you posted? I've never been able to get my head round drum patterns hat sound interesting, it always impresses me when people do that and play guitar / keyboards as well.

I'd like to say I wish I could do circuits and designs right now but I can't.
Struggling with my mind, so instead I've been gardening and getting my neck red.
Enjoying the fresh air and I have lots of flowers to show for it.
I'll be back on the circuits soon hopefully. I'm storing ideas meantime and possibilitys.
Stay safe ya'll.
