It would be nice if jacks and the switch were golden too..

i know what you mean. often i want to use gold knobs and brass plates etc. but silver colour matches up better with the jacks and switch :(

why the mix of carbon and metal? was it what was on hand or are they carefully positioned?

They were what was on hand, some of the values were a bit off the normal E12, and metal was what supplier had of those values.

I redid my wah for the second time. I previously had a Maestro Boomerang circuit in here but I wasn't at ease with it because I didn't plan out the mounting of the board and it was sligthly noisy, possibly due to grounding issues (I still have the board so if I get an extra inductor I'll slap it a regular rectangular box with a booster of some sort).

I approached things slowly this time and measured the positions of the screw holes before designing the layout. Its a regular Crybaby wah circuit with input and output buffers and the addition of the "FatWah" mod from here http://www.diyguitarist.com/DIYStompboxes/WahMod1.htm directly on the board (I like this one a lot!) and the "Q resistor" in parallel with the inductor is a 470ohm resistor in series with a 100k audio pot (this one is handy if you ever want to take the edge off) I first built it with all stock values but then quickly settled on all the "modded" values for the resistors around the first transistor.

Oh snap! As i've never seen those, i was quite sure they didn't exist and therefore did not do a thorough search for those.. :-[

I saw a lockup fix in this layout:

Bit of a noise issue to solve with this delay, but it sounds nice and vintage-y. Pretty close to a DMM....maybe a little more gritty.

Nice bean  ;D  dual pt2399 and a current mirror?

One more, this actually was finished in august 2010, but thought I'd post this one too. It is a Zendrive clone. It has seen use already, as you can see the switch is scratched.  :D

Nothing "business" about serial numbering etc. but I like to keep track of my builds, and also add something funny inside the pedals I make.
