It's been a while since I've posted in this thread. This is a re-post from the etched thread, but this is the most ambitious design I've ever attempted with my CNC machine, and long story short my machine is still recovering from it :P It's Merlin's U-Boat analog sub-octave off the TH-Custom pcb with clear shaft pots and LEDs underneath. The knobs were supposed to be labelled "Octave" and "Tone" but the machine gave up before it was done, so this pedal is now affectionately called "THE TAVE."

here, to keep dave happy, is my dis-proof of concept "trololo" trememolo, from transmogs rEAgen trem thing. I say disproof, because I have prooved that 1206 smt does not build on 0.1" perfboard, certainly not when you add thru holes and wires. and I did add wires .....

the build came out bad enough that I will be keeping this one at home, not worth the troubles of the wild. and why does the wood wait till you've sanded and sanded and sanded and clear-coated and sanded and cleared twice, then left for 2 weeks, before showing the dings and scratches and old varnish and junk?

damn natural materials.

Man I've been away for z couple of days and I miss a ton of new stuff.

DA I don't car what you think about that build, I love everything about it. It looks awesome.

Vigilante I love that. What an awesome accident, the tave. Not to mention the design came out great. I've been planning an etch similar to that for a pedal for a 60's garage/psych rock fuzz I'm working on.

Groove- I didn't realize Mark was selling the board for that. I may have to pick one up. Your build looks super clean, an thee Hendrix theme is spot on.

Just great jobs all around.

duck_arse

bloody hell, nathan! it printed tave real nice, didn't it? pity it wasn't tav, as in falco.

different dave, diy, but thanks. there is two leds stuck in a block of perspex, one for rate, one for bypass. bith almost un-seeable due to excess resistor values.

thanks rocket.

I'm not.  But, if anybody here really wants to build one--  PM me, and I can make available the 2 PCB's, the onboard pots, schematic, and the transformer at a reasonable price... You'll have to look at the pic and figure out the build, and source the other parts.  MC

Mr. Duck sir. - I haven't completed a pedal in a lil while - the pedals you been making are the style I want to build in. Your a cool cat, for a duck!

"Hhhhhhhnnnnnnnnnnnnngggggggg"

mustachio - thanks, I think.  was it you I saw showing laser cut woods? a person doing that could make some real nice side-plates, f holes, etc.

The world needs more F-holes.

And fewer A-holes.

I'd like to say something about needing a new one, but, in the interests of good taste, I'll let it pass.

just this once.

This started out as an adaption of the Tube Driver for a 1590A, but turned into something more like "in the spirit of" instead of a direct adaption, but I reeeaaaally like how it came out overall, halfway between a booster and an overdrive but still capable of some pretty gainy sounds. The project thread is over here: http://www.madbeanpedals.com/forum/index.php?topic=21684.0

And here's a quick demo I recorded last night as a warmup before going out to play: https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/9878279/Test%20recordings/Cruz%20Drive%20demo.mp3

He didn't have any instructions for the art beyond having labels for the controls, so I named the build after him and put a red roadster on it. vroom vroom!

Great looking pedal 8) Not entirely sure how you intended to put a tube driver in 1590A I BARELY squeezed one into a 1590B once and will NEVER do it again :P
