Wow, great idea to put the main logo not in inverse or do I see that wrong? is the BSIAB coming out of the aluminum?

zj

Seems like etching madness lately, love it.

I haven't tried reversed out etching like that... but Mark M's Red Llama is a good example of what can be done with it.

Yes it is. But since I had much to weak etchant the result didn't really turn out the way I wanted it to. The etch process took ages, or at least an hour and a half, to complete and hence the become pretty shallow (I didn't have enough patience to wait longer and the paint mask was starting to disembark...). I'll try a bit more aggressive mixture next time.

Here's the one $uperpuma is referring to;

Then there's this one which is a combination of both methods.

MarkM you're the etching king. You're so casual about it but I'm sure you've been through a  bunch of failures too.
I just never seem to get that hammond box flat-flat, there more I sand, the more I see it's quite concave on the short side. After only a bit of sanding the sides are ok, but the middle is still unsanded/ untouched by the sanding paper.
I'm progressing though!

But how on earth did you sand that Red Llama?

Guys, maybe he's got some secret weapon or method   ???
Give him one more chance to reveal it before banning him  ;D

  Dern Fine ones.
  The Vox EC...kinda looks like a Faberge' egg...jheeszh, what a finish !
  The BSIAB...the pic makes it look like it's ten stories tall, like the door for the wall to the entrance of 'planet distortion'.

my modified fuzz face, "faceless".  it's hard to make out everything from the pics, but the top of the enclosure has a transferred polaroid emulsion as the background!  i'm going to keep working on this method so that it doesn't turn so purple from the clear coat...  also the controls are:  top row - gain, fuzz, volume.  bottom row - bias, starve, feedback control.  switches are an spdt on-on with two different LPF settings and the feedback on/off.  the big knob is a rotary for choosing feedback caps sizes.  also, the banana jacks on the side are for plugging the feedback in - it had a hf oscillation that i couldn't get rid of when the wires were just connected to the on/off switch...must be some sort of bleedthrough.  i tried various methods to fix it, but this was the simplest.
i'll post a schematic when i scan it.
