Here is my first finished build since April... its been a long time between drinks!!!  :icon_eek:
Work and a young family doesn't allow me to spend as much time as I would like on this stuff.

Ha ha!  No work and older family means I have been spending way too much time doing this of late...   ;D

BTW, nice neat build!

Ohm's Law - much like Coles Law, but with less cabbage...

Thanks to markusw for the great layout.

^Nice engraving (or did you get text that sharp with an etch?)! The filled in text and paint gives it a neat hand-crafted look, too.

It's just an etch. All the paint was made by hand with a brush and acrylic paint.

Great work Roberto! I came across your tutorial months ago and I never got around to making one. Personally I don't like the hm-2, but my buddy wants one. I think I had problems downloading the BOM.
Visit other post http://www.freestompboxes.org/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=2425&sid=9dba63e1430e321d63b3554b701b4701&p=208180#p208180 you would see an atachment to a WORD document; you find all you want to make a HM-2, bill material, PCB etc!!!!

Did you happen to take any pics of the etched box before you shipped it to Rick?

Could you post pics of the etched enclosure so we can see something?  ;D

Continued boxing up some circuits that have been sitting around for a while.

Beehive, a Honey Bee in a 1590A. I used an OA126 and an OA1160 for the hardclippers, mostly just because of personal preference in ampy ODs.

Yet another Orange Squeezer. This one uses an "ideal" bias pot (700 Ohms in series with the bias trim), like the Hartman. Otherwise it's stock. I don't think it's the best sounding OS in my arsenal, but I've always loved the Hartman I own and this sounds pretty much identical. I was really happy with the art & lettering on this one, too.

awesome stuff everyone!  i always tend to creep and never really post much, trying to change that....  i ran a contest to give this away on my FB page.  It went over great.  looks pretty cool.  I called it the "Newzpaper Fuzz".  i ripped out pieces of a local weekly rag here in Boston and used Mod Podge to glue them down to the enclosure.  overlapped all the pieces in different directions.  Splattered acrylic paint onto the newspaper and then stamped it.  let dry for a day or two and then i gave it about 5-6 wet coats of MinWax Polycrylic.  Also covered the box in newspaper and made a paper ribbon out of construction paper.  Hope this inspires some of you, i would love to give back for all the knowledge ive gained over the years from everyone here.  Cheers!

Thanks Dood!  its really not hard, its just tedious, but so is a lot of the stuff we do with this fun hobby of ours.  The method of what i did is called "Decoupage" its real arts and crafts 101 type stuff.  The stuff used is called Mod Podge, they have a ton of different types, glossy, matte, shinny, sparkle, etc... i did a quick look around their website and found a bunch of how to videos with using their products.  Just make sure you sand your enclosure first to degrease it and roughen it up so it adheres better.  check it out and hope it helps!

Rock on!

Nice job. So you only used the Mod Podge to glue the paper to the enclosure and then used poly acrylic for the final coats?  I've got some super glossy Mod Podge that I haven't used yet, but the instructions say that it completely cures in a month. Has that been your experience?

correct.  i used the mod podge to adhere the newspaper to the enclosure.  i gave it a final coat to make sure it was all glued down.  i let it sit for a day or two, then i did the clear coat.
