Thanks for that. I think I read somewhere that caustic soda was too aggressive for nail varnish. Going to touch up with nail varnish and use ferric just in case. Will post results.

Yeah unfortunately Caustic Soda eats straight through nail varnish so touch ups are tricky, I think I'm lucky in that I don't usually need to do any so using Caustic has been pretty painless. I have used parcel tape to cover spots before though when I've had them but obviously that could be tricky depending on what bits need it.

My latest etch, a Pharaoh Fuzz.

Etched with NaOH as per norm, really happy with how the design on this one came out :)

In a massive enclosure because more doom.

Incredible detail from a great design! Nice!

Edit, Just saw the pictures thread with the gut shot, huge enclosure, must have presented a major challenge to transfer the image to it, looks like a perfect etch!

Excellent, absolutely beautiful! What size/model is that enclosure?!?! bigger than a XX/1790, correct?

My first completed etch.  Currently building my first two pedals and this enclosure is for an Orange Squeezer.  This etch was done with caustic.  I attempted an etch with ferric first but wasn't happy with it so I'm starting again with that one with caustic.  Will post pics of both once complete.

These guys are killing it.  My first etch looked like Sith!  Nice job Dog!  MC
I used to really be with it!  That is, until they changed what "it" is.  Now, I can't find it.  And, I'm scared!  --  Homer Simpson's dad
